Today, we are shaking things up a bit. We figured now that you have purchased your brooch, and have had it for a few months, you might want to be a bit creative in terms of how to wear it, am I right?
Truth be told, the traditional placement for a brooch is on the upper bodice of a top, dress, jacket or coat. And while this style will most probably remain popular, it doesn’t mean that it is the only way to wear a brooch. So, we’ve come up with different yet modern styles to help you show-off your brooch so that it looks brand new every time you wear it.

1- The Collar Style
Running late for work? Don’t know how to accessorise that basic look? Don’t fret! All you need to achieve this preppy look is a shirt. Button it up, and pin the brooch in the middle of the buttoned-up collar - and voila! You are all set to go.

2- The Necklace Style
See that necklace sitting on your dresser? You haven’t worn that in ages, right? Well, I don’t blame you. Unless you are invited to a gala or a fancy night out, wearing fancy necklace on a day-to-day basis doesn’t make much sense. WRONG! Try adding a brooch to that pearl necklace and see the magical transformation right in front of your eyes. Instead of looking at a plain fancy necklace, the brooch gives it a je ne sais quoi that makes the necklace look modern and chic. Go ahead and try it.

3- The Beanie / Hat / Hair Scarf Style
We’ve all had those days when we wake up and our hair just seems like an extension of our bodies - like it doesn’t belong to us. It doesn’t want to cooperate no matter how hard we try to style it. So, on those particular days, I usually rely on a beanie, a head scarf or a summer hat to tame my unruly hair. And if I am being frank, this kind of means using a beanie, scarf or hat more often than I’d like to admit. So to spice things up, I like adding a brooch to one side of my beanie or hat. If I am feeling a little more adventurous, I may add 2 or 3 different mini brooches to create more of a wow factor.

4- The Scarf Style
This is one of my favourite styles as it really makes any outfit pop. All you need to do is wrap a scarf around your neck quite loosely, and then pin the brooch through the scarf and outfit so it stays put. This way, the brooch will act as a decorative piece, as well as an accessory to keep the scarf from falling off. Pro tip: if you are wearing a thicker winter scarf, go for a bigger sized brooch, as the small ones might fall off or break.

5- The Hair Style
This is definitely one of the cutest ways to use your brooch in my opinion. All you need to do is attach the brooch to a hair tie or hair clip, depending on the hairstyle you are going for, and then let the brooch do its magic.
6- The Brooch Combo Style
Can't decide which brooch to wear, why not double the fun and wear two or more!

7 - The Mask Holder
The latest innovative way to style your brooch, especially in this current pandemic climate. Thank you to Catherine @ricrac_rose for this great idea. Tired of keeping your masks in your bag or slinging it on your arm or hands whilst you want to enjoy drink your tea/coffee or boba, or eat, now you can use brooches as your mask holder. Slip it off for the hold and slip it back on when done. Viola!
